The Hollister City Council on Monday, May 18, was scheduled to learn the results of polling regarding a potential sales tax initiative for road projects, but the city sent an email on Monday saying that meeting has been canceled. No reason was given.

San Benito County Council of Governments Executive Director Mary Gilbert was scheduled to present the results during the council's regular meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at Hollister City Hall, 375 Fifth St.

In addition to a number of public hearing on zoning issues, the council was also slated to consider a request for $190,000 in supplemental funding for a 4,000-gallon water tank and approve plans and specifications for runway reconstruction at the Hollister Airport.
