AROMAS SAN JUAN SCHOOL DISTRICT GOVERNING BOARD VACANCY

OCTOBER 2022

Aromas San Juan Unified School District Board of Trustees will make a provisional appointment to the Board to fill a vacancy created by Failure to Elect in Trustee Area 3. A Failure to Elect occurs when no candidate or an insufficient number of candidates have been nominated and a district election will not be held, so the Board shall appoint a qualified person to the office.

Persons interested in applying for the provisional appointment must submit their application to the District office no later than 4:30pm on Monday, October 24, 2022 to the District office. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, a citizen of the state, a resident of the school district, a registered voter, and someone who is not disqualified by the Constitution or laws of the State from holding a civil office.

Applications will be reviewed to determine eligibility. Eligible candidates will be interviewed in Open Session at 7:00pm on November 2, 2022 at a Special Board meeting. Applications can be found here or at the District office.

The community is invited to provide input either in writing or in person at the Board meeting on November 2, 2022.

The provisional appointment will be selected with a majority vote of the Board and will be seated immediately.
