Dollar Tree closer to reopening

The new and expanded Dollar Tree to replace store that burned in 2013
Putting finishing touches on floor for new Dollar Store.
Flooring specialists will complete work on 13,000 square feet of concrete for the new, expanded Dollar Store.

Work continues on the new Dollar Tree to replace the store that was destroyed by arson December 2013, along with Larry’s Liquors and Neighborhood Pizza at 550 Tres Pinos Rd. in Hollister.

A flooring crew from Pacific Decorative Concrete Inc. (PDC), out of Sacramento, has been finishing the more than 13,000 square feet of concrete in recent days. Foreman Justin Carlisle said the job would be completed by July 1. He said PDC subcontracts for all Dollar Trees throughout California, Oregon and Washington.

Grocery Outlet, which is comprised of 210 independently operated stores in California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington, according to the company’s website, is also slated to open a store where Goodwill is presently located, according to Geri Wong, of Cornish & Carey Commercial Real Estate.

“We are scheduled to open at that location in about a year,” said Melissa Porter, vice president of marketing, who said it’s too early to give any specifics details, but was able to say that Grocery Outlet does co-tenant with Dollar Tree. “We really wouldn’t have any specific information until the beginning of 2016.”

Calls to Dollar Tree concerning when the new store would open were not returned.
