DESCRIPTION:Mission 10 Race Returns to San Juan Bautista\, Celebrating 42 Years of Fitness\, Community and Service \nThe streets and scenic backroads of San Juan Bautista will once again come alive with runners\, walkers\, families\, and community supporters as the 42nd Annual Mission 10 Race returns on Saturday\, January 31\, 2026. \nHosted by the Rotary Club of Hollister\, the Mission 10 Race is one of the Central Coast’s longest-running fitness events. For more than four decades\, it has drawn participants from across California and beyond for a day that blends athletic challenge\, local scenery\, and a strong commitment to giving back. \nA Scenic Race with Options for Every Runner \nAll races begin and end at Mission Plaza\, directly in front of the historic San Juan Mission. From there\, participants travel through rural farmland and the rolling Anzar Hills\, creating a course that highlights the natural beauty of San Benito County. \nParticipants can choose from four race distances: \n\nHalf Marathon – A USATF-certified course and popular spring marathon training run\n10-Mile Race – A scenic challenge with gentle hills\n5K Run/Walk – A flat\, fast\, and accessible option for all ages\nKids 1-Mile Fun Run – A family-friendly event for young runners\n\nRace-day registration and bib pickup begin at 7:15 a.m. at Mission Plaza\, located at 406 2nd Street in San Juan Bautista. \nAll registered participants receive a long-sleeve dri-tech shirt and a finisher medal. The Half Marathon\, 10-Mile\, and 5K races are professionally timed\, with awards presented to the top three finishers in each standard age category. \nMore Than a Race: A Community Fundraiser \nThe Mission 10 Race is also the Rotary Club of Hollister’s largest annual fundraiser. Proceeds from the event support college scholarships and community programs benefiting youth and families throughout San Benito County. \nIn 2025\, the race raised more than $30\,000 for local initiatives\, and organizers hope to exceed that amount this year. \n“This race reflects the heart of Rotary — service\, community\, and connection\,” said Bill Tiffany\, Race Director and Rotary member. “Whether you’re running\, volunteering\, or cheering from the sidelines\, every participant helps make a difference.” \nA Growing Tradition: Theme Teams \nAlongside the competitive races\, organizers are continuing to build a lighthearted tradition through Theme Teams. Friends\, families\, coworkers\, and community groups are invited to participate together\, adding a festive and social element to race day. \nTheme Teams are optional and designed to enhance the overall atmosphere — whether that means matching shirts\, simple costumes\, or a shared team identity.
