Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training

Classes begin Tuesday, April 14th and will be held weekly for 8 weeks at the San Benito County Sheriff’s Dept. from 6:00-9:00 PM, concluding with an exercise on Saturday, May 30th.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training is a program designed to prepare San Benito County residents to help themselves, their families, and neighbors, in the event of a disaster. The training covers basic skills that are important to know in a disaster when emergency services are not available. CERT members will receive training in earthquake preparedness, disaster fire suppression techniques, disaster medical operations, first aid/CPR, light search and rescue as well as team organization and management.

Classes will be every Tuesday from April 14 to May 26 and a Disaster Simulation Exercise on Saturday, May 30.

Classes are on Tuesdays in the Sheriff’s Office Conference Room
Disaster Simulation is on Saturday at the Hollister Airport
