SUMMARY:Household Hazardous Waste Collection
DESCRIPTION:The County of San Benito Integrated Waste Management Regional Agency sponsors Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) collection days.  These events serve the cities of Hollister\, San Juan Bautista\, and the unincorporated areas of San Benito County. The purpose is for residents of San Benito County to lawfully dispose of household hazardous waste that is not accepted by the landfill. Hazardous wastes are any unused or leftover portions of products containing toxic chemicals. There is no charge for dropping off this waste. This program is limited to household hazardous waste generated by residents\, and proof of residency is required.  The limit is either 15 gallons (total) or 125 pounds of material per trip. \nWhat is Household Hazardous Waste?\nAny hazardous waste that you use in your home\, yard\, or garage\, including automotive fluids (oil\, gas\, etc)\, can be brought to the HHW collection event. They will often have POISON\, DANGER\, WARNING\, CAUTION or PRECAUTIONARY STATEMENTS printed on the label.  \nIn the Yard: Pesticides\, Fungicides\, Weed Killers\, Pool Chemicals\, Small Propane Tanks\nIn the Garage: Antifreeze\, Oil & Filters\, Gasoline\, Wash & Polishes\, Auto Batteries\, Engine Cleaners\, Brake Fluid\nIn the Workshop: Paint (all kinds)\, Paint Thinner\, Wood Preservatives\, Glues & Adhesives\, Solvents\, Photo Chemicals\nIn the House: Ammonia Based Cleaners\, Bleach Based Cleaners\, Aerosol Sprays\, Polishes\, Fluorescent Lamps\, Nail Polish & Remover\, Medications & Syringes \nNOT ACCEPTED: Explosives\, Ammunition\, Radioactive Waste\, Biological Waste (syringes & lancets must be in an approved Sharps container available free to San Benito County residents). DESCRIPTION:Murder Mystery Dinner and Silent Auction sponsored by San Benito High School ASB. A benefit for Arick Romo. \n Arick \, a 2002 Baler graduate who was paralyzed in a car accident in 2014. He has been a care facility ever since.  While in the care facility his wife gave birth to their daughter.  They are in need of assistance to retro-fit their home and wheelchair which insurance won’t cover.  The ASB has chosen to support this family not only financially but emotionally for their 2015-2016 benefit drive.   \nPlease come to this first annual event\, and support Arick and his family. \nAT 7:30 the doors open to a No-Host bar and the start of the Mystery.  The Mystery is put on by Premier murder mystery company\, “Mysteries for Hire” from the San Francisco Bay area.  \n Tickets for the event can be purchased at the High School payment center\, or at Domino’s Pizza on McCray St.  There are less than 200 tickets available\, tables of 10 can be reserved as well
