DESCRIPTION:San Benito Scouts set for annual Holiday Food Drive.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDedication to community service is a core principle of scouting and there is no greater demonstration of that commitment than the upcoming 2025 Scouting for Food drive.\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOn December 7th\, San Benito Scouts from kindergarten to age 18 will be canvassing Hollister-area neighborhoods for the organization’s largest “good turn” event of the year\, the annual door-to-door food donation drive to benefit the Community Food Bank of San Benito County.\nScouts from all local troops will be uniting to collect donated food items in the neighborhoods where they previously placed yellow fliers on porches. Residents are invited to join in the food drive by providing non-perishable food items and placing them in a bag on their porches by 9:00 a.m. on collection day\, December 7\, 2024.\nTo ensure your donation is collected\, please tape the “Scouting for Food” yellow flier on the bag. Flyers will be distributed throughout the Hollister area on December 1\, 2024.\nEvent organizer Kristy Burchard said the annual event is a chance for local scouts to help those in our community who are most in need during the holiday season.\n“It’s incredible to see Scouts of all ages come together for this important cause\,” Burchard said. “From the youngest members to the oldest\, everyone plays a role in making a difference. Every donation counts and helps families in our community.”\nIf your donation is missed\, you can take it directly to the Community Food Bank at 1133 San Felipe Road in Hollister\, or call Burchard at (831) 801-1203 for assistance.
