DESCRIPTION:Hollister's Boy Scout Troop 436 and San Juan Bautista's Troop 428 will be providing curbside pick-up service for Christmas trees. The troops are asking for an $8. donation. All trees are recycled. \nOn the pick-up dates\, leave your tree visible at the curb by 9 am\, stripped of all decorations and stands. Trees do not need to be cut in sections. We accept flocked trees. Both cities are served twice on each pick-up date between 9 am and 2 pm. No need to call to give us an address unless you have special instructions. DESCRIPTION:San Benito Stage Company is excited to begin work on it’s 2014 Spring Children’s Musical\, Anne of Green Gables.  This musical centers around a young orphan girl\, Anne Shirley and her adventures\, and misadventures\, as she comes to live with a new family and make new friends.  Anne is full of personality and it seems that trouble is never far off when she is around!  \nThe production will be cast with children and teens\, ages 6 years old through 8th grade and has many roles for both boys and girls. Auditions will be held Thursday\, January 23rd and Friday\, January 24th at 6pm and Saturday\, January 25th at 9am.  Prospective actors should come to auditions with a prepared 1 – 2 minute monologue.  There is no need to bring a song as both a song and dance will be taught during the audition.  Auditions will be held at The Granada Theatre\, 336 5th Street in Hollister. \nPerformances of Anne of Green Gables will be March 28 through April 12th at the Granada Theatre in Hollister. DESCRIPTION:This Wednesday\, January 29th – \,Hollister\, CA; 6:00 – 8:00 pm\, at the San Juan Oaks Golf Course\, 3285 Union Road. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is conducting a scoping process to solicit public comments on how oil and gas resources on federal mineral estate should be managed in the BLM’s Hollister Field Office (HFO)\, and whether the BLM should include areas of California beyond the HFO in this process. The public scoping process is the first step in preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Public open houses are also scheduled for February in Salinas\, Sacramento\, and Coalinga\, CA.
