DESCRIPTION:FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE					CONTACT \n			(831) 623-4953 \nOld Mission San Juan Bautista parish will sponsor its seventh annual community blood drive from 9:00am to 1:00pm on Sunday\, March 9\, 2014\, at Casa Maria at the Old Mission\, 600 First Street\, San Juan Bautista.  The bloodmobile will be located in the parking lot and blood will be drawn by the staff of Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula’s Blood Center.  New this year\, donors will receive a Baskin Robbins “Pint for a Pint” ice cream coupon. \nPotential blood donors must be 17 years of age and above.  There is no upper age limit for healthy people\, but\, all donors must be in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds.  In addition\, potential donors should bring a photographic identification and have eaten and drunk fluids prior to presenting themselves at the registration table. \nBlood is continuously needed for stroke patients\, cancer patients\, unexpected surgeries and accidents.  It cannot be manufactured and the constant demand can be met only by regular donations of healthy volunteer donors.   \nBlood is the most precious gift one can give to another. SUMMARY:Traveling Silent Auction
DESCRIPTION:The event puts a little twist on a standard form of fundraising.  Most people are familiar with a silent auction.  Items are available for people to “bid” on.  Participants place their bid(s) on a designated sheet and hope to have the highest bid at the closing of the auction.  This event is conducted in much the same way\, but with one exception.\nFor their Traveling Silent Auction\, the businesses keep the donation on site and interested individuals must visit the corresponding business to write in their bids.  Stop by any one of our 23 locations in Tres Pinos\, San Juan Bautista\, or of course Hollister.  Bid on as many of the 26 prizes as you’d like.  Winners will be notified by the end of the month.  All proceeds will go toward the travel costs for Hollister Free Wheelers (wheelchair soccer team) to attend National Championship games in Indiana\, June 2014.
