SUMMARY:Faultline 500
DESCRIPTION:Drivers\, check your tires and fill up your tanks\, the tenth running of the Faultline 500 is set to go off this July 12-14\, 2019! \nFor those of you that haven’t heard\, the Faultline 500 is a two day vintage car rally through the heart of Central California’s earthquake country. Starting in Hollister and ending in Tres Pinos\, the rally winds its way through deserted coast and country roads with an overnight in Morro Bay. We’ll be covering all types of roads\, from tight and twisty and goaty as hell\, to fast open sweepers\, and maybe [yes] even some [very well] groomed fire roads\, bailouts available. The scenery is beautiful and the roads are just about empty. \nThe rules are simple: \n-Be in a pre 1976 car. It can be Drewitz-style Rolls-classy\, Mehari-ballsy\, or Trans-Am giant. \n-Bring tools\, a willingness to use them\, and maybe even a AAA card just in case. \n-This is not a race. Lawyer business\, indemnity\, waiver\, so on and so forth… We fully expect everyone to drive within their limits. Don’t drive like a twit; use common sense and respect the rules of the road. \n-Bring a good attitude. \nENTRY FEE INCLUDES: \n• Catered lunch on Saturday in Parkfield \n• Saturday night food-truck eats and cocktails in Morro Bay \n• Saturday night hotel in Morro Bay \n• Catered awards banquet in Tres Piños \n• Route maps \n• Sticker pack and rally bag\, t-shirts and other road loot \nJuly is a busy time. LeMons\, Concourses d’Pristines\, and mowing your lawn all get in the way\, sure. But we’d like to offer another chance to stretch those old cars’ legs. So dust off the Giulia or Jag or Citroën or whatever pre-76 car\, we’re going driving! \nIf you have any questions\, don’t be shy. Contact us at faultline500@gmail.com \nHope to see you out there! \nTeam Faultline \n415-218-8413

SUMMARY:B&R Farms U-Pick Event
DESCRIPTION:This summer\, B&R Farms is bringing you the unique opportunity to try the rare and endangered Blenheim Apricot\, picked fresh by you\, right from the tree! In celebration of 90 proud years in business\, we welcome you to our Hollister orchards for the chance to soak in blue skies and fresh air\, while filling your bucket with the finest Blenheim Apricots. \nAlthough this heirloom variety was once grown in abundance throughout the Santa Clara Valley\, urbanization and a risky harvest season have driven the Blenheim Apricot onto Slow Food USA’s Endangered Foods list. Yet\, nestled between the Diablo and Gabilan mountain ranges\, you can find B & R Farms’ bustling Blenheim Apricot orchard\, where warm days and cool nights\nallow the fruit to flourish. Complex in flavor\, the Blenheim Apricot boasts a tart skin that is perfectly balanced by a sugary-sweet flesh. Its beauty and incredible aroma draw you in\, even before your first bite. \nPay by the pound and take home your very own bucket of this disappearing gem! B &R Farms U-Pick event will take place on Saturday\, July 13 9am to 2pm at 5280 Fairview Road in Hollister\, California. We’re waiting on Mother Nature to indicate when the apricots will be perfectly ripe for your enjoyment\, so check our website\, Facebook\, and Instagram (@brfarmsllc) in early June for event dates and updates.

SUMMARY:Red Cross Blood Donation Event
DESCRIPTION:The Central Coast community is invited to become a hometown hero and answer the call of patients in need by donating blood on Wednesday\, August 28\, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the American Red Cross Central Coast Chapter’s office in Santa Cruz. The address for the special blood drive that day is 2960 Soquel Avenue\, Santa Cruz. \nDonating blood is one of the simplest things a person can do to help save a patient’s life. For the hour it takes to give blood\, there could be a whole community of people thankful for another birthday given to their loved one. \nThis blood drive  comes as the  Red Cross faces an emergency  blood shortage. Blood donors are needed now to help avoid delays in lifesaving medical care for patients this summer. Right now\, blood  products are being distributed to hospitals  faster than  donations are coming in. More donations are  immediately  needed to help replenish the blood supply.
