DESCRIPTION:Learn about childbirth topics in a fun\, comfortable and respectful class environment is the goal of the Childbirth Education Program at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. Dates listed are the first day of each session. Each session includes 4 classes. All classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and are held in the Support Services Building\, 2nd Floor Great Room at Hazel Hawkins Hospital. \nAs expectant parents you will be introduced to the warning signs of preterm labor\, onset and stages of true labor\, pain theories and comfort measures. You will also learn breathing and relaxation techniques to assist you during the labor process. Possible medical interventions such as induction\, pain medications\, epidural and caesarean section will be presented. \nNewborn appearance\, standard newborn procedures following birth\, cord blood banking and car seat installation are part of this comprehensive course that will help you feel more confident as you approach the special day when you bring your precious child into this world. \n\nTaught by Registered Nurses\nEach session is 4 consecutive weeks\nCost is $60 for the 4-week session\nIncludes tour of Maternal/Child Unit\nRegister with your doctor or by calling instructor during your 2nd trimester to start classes between your 28th and 32nd week of pregnancy.\nBring check or cash payment to your first night of class. SUMMARY:Youth Alliance and Aromas Students Present Play at El Teatro Campesino
DESCRIPTION:Youth Alliance Producer Greg Smith leads a company of adult staff who have worked with Aromas School children who came up with the basic theme\, workshopped the show\, and gave input\, which was then assembled by Director Joe Luis Cedillo.  Other production team members are Vivian Castillo\, serving as the Musical Director and Ryan Terry\, as the Technical Director.  \nThe students worked over a ? month period to create the play and performance. \nPerformance will be a 30 minute long environmentally-themed children’s production including two songs. \nThis will be the only public performance of the Aromas students at the El Teatro Campesino in San Juan Bautista. The play was also performed at a school assembly at Aromas Elementary School on March 26.  \n  \nOn May 22\, students from San Juan Elementary School will be performing the play they have created with the Youth Alliance team. \n  \nThe Youth Alliance performances are funded by the Aromas-San Juan Community Schools Foundation\, and Community Foundation for San Benito County\, United Way\, El Teatro Campesino.

DESCRIPTION:Youth Rally-Hollister “Wish List” \nYouth Rally-Hollister Planning Team\, are coming together to provide a YOUTH RALLY for all San Benito County youth on Saturday\, May 10\, 2014 at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Hollister. The YOUTH RALLY is for youth and coordinated by youth to promote a healthy and active lifestyle free of violence\, drugs\, and alcohol. Events include: Dance competitions\, Battle of the Bands\, Art Wall\, Poetry Slam\, Tie Dye Station\, Craft/Recycling Art Table\, Sports Challenges\, 3on3 Basketball\, Pick-up Volleyball\, Dunk Tank\, 50 foot Ice Cream Sundae\, Kids Carnival\, Jump Houses\, Face Painting\, Treasure Chest (Free Flea Market) and much more. \nNot only do we need volunteers and community role models to help make this event a huge success\, but there are also many ways to help that do not require a considerable time commitment! With this in mind\, our coordinators have compiled a “Wish List” to show how your expertise\, your “connections” or even the stuff you have sitting in your garage can make a difference in reaching out to our youth! \nWish List: \nPaint and paintbrushes or painting supplies\nFood\, Snacks and Drinks\nRaffle Prizes such as: Apple iPod\, CD Player\, Bike\, Gift Certificates\nAwards or plaques for event winners\nEvent sponsor (Your name may be advertised on event t-shirt and/or announcement of sponsorship during the event\, and a thank you given in our local newspaper!)\nPhotographer or videographer to highlight the day’s events \nAgencies and youth participating in the Youth Rally-Hollister truly appreciate your generous tax deductible contribution of any amount small or large. Please mail checks to me\, made out to the Community Foundation with “Youth Rally” in the memo section. We have also set up an account for your tax deductible donation with the Community Foundation at: http://cffsbc.org. You will find a “Donate Here” tab on the bottom right of the home page. We envision booths and hands-on activities related to food\, water\, energy\, emergency preparedness\, and transportation. You don't need to be an expert in any of these areas\, although it would be great if you are!
