Participants will enjoy a wide range of informative and enjoyable presentations\, demonstrations and vendor booths. \nEach hour from 10 am to 3 pm\, local gardening professionals will give educational presentations on popular gardening topics\, while hands-on gardening demonstrations will be given continually throughout the day.  Between these educational activities\, participants will want to browse the booths of community organizations and gardening-related businesses offering information\, goods and services to help in the garden. A Children’s Activity Booth and food vendors complete the array of activities.

SUMMARY:Yoga at the Historical Park
DESCRIPTION:Yoga classes at the San Benito County Historical Park\, on the second Tuesday evening of the month\, has been very successful!  Those coming without experience in Yoga have been pleasantly surprised to find themselves easily fitting into the lesson taught by Robin Pollard during the hour long session.  Robin focuses on limbering and movement exercises coordinated with the 'breath'.  Often during the day\, when concentrating on what we're doing\, we even forget to breathe fully\, and that increases our tension and anxiety.  Yoga\, as Robin teaches\, brings a mindfulness to your breathing that becomes habit.  If one learned this alone\, the classes would be so worth the effort getting there. \nThe Yoga classes that Robin is teaching are sponsored by R.E.A.C.H. San Benito Parks Foundation and the San Benito County Historical Society at the 'Dance Hall' in San Benito County Historical Park.  At first the inspiration was to celebrate the full moon in April\, but the inspiration blossomed into an all-Summer affair.  Getting out to the Historical Park is essential for every county resident to get on their calendar\, and then to add the joy of learning a bit of something new\, like Yoga\, is a total bonus.  It is seldom you will find the chance to get acquainted with this exercise and meditative practice in such an inviting atmosphere\, for a donation only!  What a winner!  On a warm summer evening\, second Tuesday of the month through the Summer\, COME ON OUT!!!  Not ever to be regretted.

DESCRIPTION:Gavilan College is offering Circuit Training at Hollister's Portuguese Hall (695 7th Street) this summer. Taught by Ricardo Espinosa\, the class will combine aerobic exercise with resistance training to build fitness. Three levels of the class are offered\, which should be taken sequentially. This is a half-unit credit class\, applicable to a Gavilan College Associate degree. The course may be taken for a letter grade\, or for the pass/no-pass option. \nLevel 1 – This course is a combination of aerobic exercise and resistance training designed to simultaneously improve mobility \, strength and stamina. Students will rotate from station to station\, alternating between cardio and muscle toning exercise. Emphasis will be on students exercising at a moderate (40% – 50% THR) exertion level.  \nLevel 2 – This course continues from Level 1. Emphasis will be on student's exercising at an intermediate (50% – 60% THR) exertion level.  \nLevel 3 – This course continues from Level 2.. The Mutsun gardens were designed by the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band as educational tools that demonstrate native plants used as food\, medicine\, and materials for the Mutsun people\, and serve as a visual reminder that the Amah Mutsun are still here and continue to value and maintain their ethnobotanical traditions. The gardens are also a material source for tribal members who wish to harvest and use culturally significant plants.  \nVolunteers play a huge role every month in helping the Mutsun gardens thrive\, and the Amah Mutsun Land Trust and Amah Mutsun Tribal Band are grateful for your support. \nNo experience is necessary to join us. Gloves and tools are provided but feel free to bring your own gloves or small garden tools if you have them. DESCRIPTION:Community Solutions is hosting their semi-annual Sexual Assault\, Intimate Partner Abuse\, and Human Trafficking Volunteer Advocate training beginning July 14\, 2017 and running through Aug 11\, 2017. This nine-day extensive training allows community members to obtain the training needed to become a Certified Sexual Assault and Intimate Partner Abuse Advocate. \nTrained advocates will be able to provide prevention\, education and outreach presentations; assist with legal advocacy and court accompaniment; provide peer support to survivors at our confidential shelter and crisis line support; provide in-person responses for survivors in crisis; and support the Solutions to Violence teams at our Morgan Hill and Hollister offices. \nFor information and/or to register for the training\, please contact Rosio Franco at (408) 776-6204 or rosio.franco@communitysolutions.org.
