This book chronicles Ostdick’s 2016 coast to coast walk across America in support of the R.E.A.C.H. San Benito Parks Foundation. \nJulie F. Morris\, author of “Exit Strategy.” Her novel is based in the fictional town of Las Flores and is about a nationwide E-Coli outbreak. Finigan Morris set the story in 2008 to coincide with the housing and financial crisis and bring to light the financial struggles of agricultural workers. \nJoyce Oroz\, author of “Pushing Up Daisy.” Oroz worked as a commercial artist for many years until she rediscovered her love of writing. Joyce lives in California\, where she conjures up incredible mysteries for her protagonist\, Josephine\, to solve. \nLaynee Reyna\, artist and author of “Wolf Dreamer of the Longest Night Moon” illustrates the exquisite beauty of nature and expands awareness and respect for the nobility of wolves. SUMMARY:Guided Night Hike at Pinnacles National Park
DESCRIPTION:When the sun goes down at Pinnacles\, a new side of the park emerges.  \nJoin a ranger to explore what happens in the park after dark. The night hike will be a one-mile\, 60-90 minute hike through relatively flat terrain. All visitors should bring a flashlight. Red flashlights or headlamps are preferred\, but red cellophane will be provided for those with regular lights. Visitors should also bring water. Temperatures drop significantly in the park after dark\, so dress warmly in layers\, and wear comfortable shoes. All children must be accompanied by an adult and be able to walk the entire distance. \n  \nHikes are limited to 25 participants\, with no more than 6 per group. Registration is required. SUMMARY:Enterprise Academy of Martial Arts to Host Special Anti-Bully Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Enterprise Academy of Martial Arts is hosting a free community event in the way of an anti-bully workshop on Thursday\, Nov. 2 at 7pm at it’s location at 351 Tres Pinos Rd #B. The purpose of the workshop is to educate attendees on what bullying is\, the different types of bullying and how to combat it. Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn physical self-defense techniques. \nEnterprise Academy of Martial Arts has been the center for all things Anti-Bully since it’s first year in business in 2006. Owner and Master Instructor Mark Preader has been touring local elementary schools\, and bringing the “Be The Hero Against Bullying” talk to the children of our Community. DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED — Due to rain in the forecast\, this event has been cancelled and will be re-scheduled for later this year\, or early 2018.  We'll keep you posted on new dates and other opportunities like this one! \nRanchers\, farmers\, other landowners\, and community members of all ages are invited to come out to the Pajaro Ranch  (formerly known as Gonzales Farm) to celebrate a conservation and community success story on working agricultural lands. \nGuests are welcome to bring a blanket and picnic lunch and get your hands dirty by planting trees and helping with other stewardship activities\, or just come see the site\, view the new interpretative sign\, and eat cake!  Cake will be served at 11:30 am. Map and directions will be e-mailed prior to the event.  Please note the terrain is rugged\, so wear sturdy shoes and comfortable clothes; all tools will be provided. \nSince 2014 local schoolchildren\, including students from San Benito High School\, local 4-H clubs\, and Tres Pinos\, Cerra Vista\, and R.O.
