SUMMARY:Hunting for Geocaches at Hollister Hills SVRA
DESCRIPTION:Hollister Hills State Vehicular Recreation Area (SVRA) is gearing up to host its Eighth Annual Geocache Bash on September 28\, 2019. This family friendly event combines 4×4 off road recreation and Geocaching\, the global online scavenger hunt in a day of exciting exploration. Participants will receive free day admission to the park as they search for newly released geocaches via 4×4 vehicles. With the addition of Mudstone Ranch (non-motorized multiuse trails)\, geocachers who do not have a 4×4 vehicle available can still participate by searching for caches via hiking or bicycle. \nThe event cache coordinates will be downloaded via geocaching.com onto participant GPS’s at registration. Each geocache will hold a collective interpretive card specifically designed to promote the parks natural and cultural resources. \nTo participate in the Geocache Bash\, please follow designated signs to Area 5 Group Camp for event registration beginning at 8am. A global positioning system device (GPS) is required to participate. At registration\, one official geocache logbook for field use will be issued per registered participant GPS for the event. Due to the topography and tree coverage of the park smart phone based GPS can be very spotty. \nThe geocache hunt will take place from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Thanks to the parks cooperating association\, Hollister Hills Off-Road Association (HORRA) will provide a complementary lunch at 12pm. \nFor additional information\, please email the park at Hollister.Hills@parks.ca.gov or call (831) 638-3207. We hope to see you here. \n

SUMMARY:Graniterock Rock and Run
DESCRIPTION:Grantiterock’s website describes the event as: \n “Rock and Run describes the unique experience that awaits you as you meander through a 119 year-old\, environmentally responsible\, operational hard rock quarry. This is a 10K Run or 5K Walk/Run as you have never imagined. But you can do that after you’ve had a breakfast burrito to refuel after your run.” \nSee attached picture for the route. 5K course is in red.  The 10K course will do the 5K course and then head up into the hills (blue lines) around the backside of the quarry for a loop before rejoining the course at the bottom of the hill. \nOctober 13\, 2019 \nStart Time: 8:00 a.m. \nEnd Time: 11:00 a.m. \nPrice: $25.00 Race Fee + $2.00 SignUp Fee \nRegistration: Price increases to $30.00 after October 12. \nGraniterock – AR Wilson Quarry \n1900 Quarry Rd \nAromas\, CA US 95004 \nRegistration \n
