Local musician Zachary Freitas is teaming up with Mars Hill for a toy drive on Dec. 6 in Hollister. He will be selling CD's from his recently released Bitter Vanilla EP for $5.
It's an all-ages, family-friendly event, there's no cover charge. Just a request from Zack,
"This show is not for me, the music is just the icing on the cake. Please bring a toy, I'm doing this for our community to come together and support all the disadvantaged kids out there that might not have a 'jolly christmas' this year."
The event will start at 5 p.m. and will feature four 45-minute sets from locals Freitas and Kaleb Askew that play semi-regularly at Mars Hill.
The other two additonal acts come from San Jose. "Layla" and "The Valko Bothers" are two different bands, but the Valko Brothers will often play drums and bass for Layla.
Layla is no stranger, she has played alongside with Freitas in Hollister before at The Battle Of The Bands last year at San Benito High School.
The Valko Brothers have not played in Hollister before.
