By unanimous vote, the San Benito County Board of Supervisors established the Parks and Recreation Commission on December 6, 2006. Dedicated to the enhancement of park and recreation opportunities in the county, this advisory commission makes recommendations to the Board on the: Use of existing county park facilities Need for future park facilities Development of recreational activities and programs Use of federal, state, and local funds for parks and recreation facilities and activities Joint use of park facilities Coordination with federal, state, and local parks and recreation agencies to enhance the use of park facilities throughout the county
