SBC Board of Supervisors’ 2nd Public Hearing on Housing Projects

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of San Benito Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, 481 – 4th Street, Hollister, CA to discuss the application for funding under the 2020 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and to solicit citizen input on the proposed activities to be included in the application.
San Benito County is applying for $3,500,000 for Public Services and Public Facilities under the Notice of Funding Availability for the following eligible activities:
Public Services- $500,000:
• $275,000: Community Homeless Solutions for the operations of the HOME Resource Center
• $187,500: Sun Street Center for operations of the residential treatment facility
• Approximately $37,500 will go towards administrative fees as allowed by the State (7.5%)
Public Facilities: $3,000,000 for construction of 8-10 Transitional Housing units for homeless families, a community center within the area of transitional housing and rehab of an on-site small park.
The purpose of the public hearing is to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known on the proposed activities/application.

Regardless of whether the matter is on the agenda. Every effort will be made to provide Board Members with your comments before the agenda item is heard.

2. It will then ask for a Participant ID, press the “#” key to continue.
3. Once you enter the zoom meeting, you will automatically be placed on mute.

Public Comment Guidelines
· If participating on zoom Once you are selected, you will hear that you have been unmuted: State your first name, last name, and county you reside in for the record.
· The San Benito County Board of Supervisors welcomes your comments.
· Each individual speaker will be limited to a presentation total of three (3) minutes.
· Please keep your comments, brief, to the point, and do not repeat prior testimony, so that as many people as possible can be heard. Your cooperation is appreciated.
