San Juan Bautista Rotary Club is sponsoring a Holiday at Verutti Park community event on Saturday, Dec. 20 from noon- 4 p.m. The park is located at the corner of Second and San Jose streets in San Juan Bautista.
The free community event is a chance for the community to get together in a positive environment while raising awareness about the park and the need to renovate it. Part of the area will be decorated in a Winter Wonderland theme where children can meet Santa for pictures. A local photographer will be taking free pictures for families and free hot dogs and cocoa will be served in a holiday music atmosphere
The event follows up last weekend’s work project in which volunteers, under the direction of the San Juan Bautista Rotary Club, installed a new perimeter fence at the park and plan to install rubber matting under the playground equipment to make it safer for the children.
Lauren Verutti Memorial Park was established in 1991 and over the years, with the support of the San Juan Bautista Service Club, it has become the most popular park and playground in the city.
