On May 16th, Sunlit Oaks Winery will host an outdoor wine tasting and informational gathering about native plant hedgerows and their benefits to farmland. Native plants attract native bees better than non-native plants and provide habitat for beneficial insects that control agricultural pests. Native plants are adapted to California's climate and many are drought tolerant. Rob De Bree of Elkhorn Slough Nursery will help participants select plants for their own properties, and will have plants available for sale.
Wines available for tasting will include Chardonnay, Merlot, Late Harvest, Zinfandel, Moscato and gold medal winning Sangioveses.
Children Welcome. Bring Your Own Picnic Lunch.
