If you’ve got a friendly dog or fuzzy feline in need of a fixin’, you’re in luck!
Snip Bus, a low-cost spay and neuter clinic, will be in Hollister on Dec. 7–9. The clinic is setting aside Dec. 7 as a cat-only day. They will be providing services in front of Hollister RV Parts & Service at 281 San Felipe Road.
The cost of bringing the bus to town was raised by local animal rescue groups. Forgiving Paws Thrift Shop paid for one day of the clinic. Founder Maggie Lairso said Forgiving Paws donated “because of the importance of spaying and neutering, to control the excessive population of unwanted animals.”
Heading Home Animal Rescue paid for the Dec. 7 clinic in order to have feral cats fixed.
Snip Bus founder Melanie Scherer said, “Animal rescue alone will never stop our animal overpopulation problem. Low-cost spay and neuter is necessary to snip the problem at the source and make sure no more healthy animals are killed in shelters simply because there aren’t enough homes to go around.”
The cost to have a cat or dog spayed or neutered at the Snip Bus is $25, cash only. Low-cost vaccinations and microchips are also available.
The clinic opens at 9 a.m. each day. Animals might need to fast before the procedure. Call (925) 895-8531 for details and to make an appointment. Standbys are welcome to fill appointment no-shows.
