Alice S. Carreiro was born on December 29, 1925 on Suiter Street in Hollister to Tom P. Silva and Virginia Zanoni Silva. She has one sister, Helen Serpa.

Alice married Dan Carreiro in 1945. They lived on the Dunn-O’Connell Ranch where Dan worked. They had one son, Daniel T. Carreiro. When Dan passed away in 1975, Alice was able to remain on the ranch for the rest of her life.

Alice was a homemaker. She loved to sew, knit, cook, can and garden. She enjoyed her flowers and growing her own vegetables. She did work at the Sugar Plum Restaurant for about 13 years. Alice also enjoyed traveling with her sister Helen. They went on several cruises; such as Hawaii, the Panama Canal, Alaska, Australia, etc.

Alice is survived by her sister, Helen Serpa; son Daniel T. Carreiro (and the “love of his life” Roberta); grandson Frank Carreiro (wife Victoria); great-grandson Adam Carreiro; niece Toni (husband Sean and son Michael); as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Tom and Virginia Silva; daughter-in-law Susan Carreiro and grandson Tommy Carreiro.

Visitation will be on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.

A Mass of the Resurrection will held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Donations are preferred to local VFW Post 9242 c/o the mortuary.
