Amiri Powell was born on April 13, 1971, in Sacramento, California, to his loving parents, Benny Powell and Ann Harrison. He spent his early years in Sacramento and later moved to Arizona, where he continued to build his life. He was a cherished son, brother, and friend. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his passing on October 5, 2023.
Throughout his life, Amiri pursued his passions with unwavering dedication. He was an avid lover of comics and video games, finding joy and inspiration in the worlds they created. Amiri frequented comedy clubs, where he enjoyed sharing laughter and making lasting memories with friends. His love for music was a constant source of comfort and joy.
Amiri’s upbringing in both California and Arizona allowed him to experience the beauty of two different landscapes and cultures. He treasured the memories of those places and the friends he made along the way.
Amiri’s greatest joy in life was his family. He leaves behind his loving mom, Ann, his sister, Tamiko Davis, as well as his children, Inez, Anthony, and Dominic Powell, who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.
As we bid our final farewell, let us remember Amiri Powell for the love and laughter he brought into our lives, his passion for comics, video games, comedy clubs, and music. His memory will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, and he will be dearly missed.
