Aurelia Gonzalez Herrera passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2023. She was 90 years old. Aurelia was born on June 16, 1933 in Los Pascuales (Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango), Mexico. She shared 70 years of marriage with her husband Raul Herrera, and together they had seven children. She
immigrated to the U.S. in 1965 and moved to Hollister, Ca in 1968, where she worked at the Cannery for
20 years. She became a U.S. citizen in 1996.
Aurelia was known as a loving mother and grandmother. She loved generously and wanted the best for
everyone she knew. A devout Catholic, she prayed daily for family and friends, and was guided by her
faith.
She is survived by her husband Raul Herrera, children Belen Martinez and Leticia Churchill, and several
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her children Aida Herrera, Sylvia
Herrera, Michael Herrera, Thelma De Leon, and Raul Herrera.
A visitation will be held from 2 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at the Grunnagle-
Ament-Nelson Funeral Home at 870 San Benito St, Hollister, California. A Rosary prayer will be read at 6:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 13 at St.
