ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR

The Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of San Benito County seeks to help catalyze job creation and investment, and to promote the value of economic development in San Benito County. To further this aim, the San Benito County EDC seeks to hire a professional Economic Development Coordinator (Coordinator) who can support and work with the Executive Director with needed administrative support, and some economic development activities. The Coordinator will be the primary staff to coordinate EDC Board meetings and agendas, update the website, prepare draft reports and prepare press releases as needed. The Coordinator is often the first point of contact with potential clients. Much of what the Coordinator does is confidential. This is a part time position of 20-25 hours per week on an as needed schedule. No benefits are provided by the EDC.  The position salary will be determined based on the education and the experience of the candidate selected.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for our mission, and will be able to adhere to high standards for the quality of his/her work, have excellent organizational skills, and have professional written and verbal communication skills. Ideally the candidate would be a resident of San Benito county, with a knowledge of local organizations and issues.

Qualifications include a combination of education and experience that can fulfill the duties of the position. Economic development-related experience is preferred.

Economic Development Coordinator will provide staff support for the Board of Directors and its Executive Committee (setting up the Zoom meetings, sending out meeting invitation along with materials including the agenda, minutes and other documents that provide additional information for particular Board Agenda items).  The Coordinator ensures that Board Records are preserved from every Board Meeting
