George Padilla

George Padilla passed away at his home on Friday, June 23rd, 2023 at the age of 77.  George was born in Ventura, California on March 7th, 1946 the first born of George and Stella Padilla who preceded him in death.

His family lived in New Idria before moving to Hollister.  He was a graduate of San Benito High School class of 1965.

He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle and friend to many.

George met his wife Mary Jane Maderis whom he married on August 30th, 1975.  Together they raised their 3 children.

George is survived by his wife Mary Jane, their children Shaun (Meagan)Padilla, Ranelle (Johnny) Dain and Linsay Padilla (Chris Ramson) all of Hollister.

His six beautiful grandchildren Ethan, Lucas and Emma Padilla and Brayden, Evelyn and Braxton Dain of Hollister.

His siblings Victor Padilla (Georgia), Rose Arballo (Joey), Rocky Padilla (Donna), Ruben Padilla (Meghan), David Padilla (Stacie) all of Hollister, Gloria Ahumada (Joe) of Visalia and Richard Padilla (Jimmy) of Oroville

Brother & Sister in laws John Maderis (Trish) and Janice Bishop (Ted) of Hollister

George was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving from 1967-1968 as a Door Gunner/Crew chief in the United States Army.  He served as a VFW Lifetime member and a member of ARA (Aerial Rocket Artillery) and VHCM (Vietnam Helicopter Crew Association).

He was in the San Benito County Deputy Sheriff reserve for 6 years and worked for 30 years as a Glazier most recent for Coast Counties Glass before retiring in 1998.

He loved to travel with his family and loved going to the casinos.  He was a great handyman of wood crafts.  

George will be greatly missed.  

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at 1 :00 P.M. VFW Building 649 San Benito Street in Hollister, CA.

In honor of his love and support for our Veterans they ask for those attending to wear Red, White and Blue as George supported his fellow Veterans.

The family thanks the VFW and Honor Guard friends and family for their overwhelming love and support during this difficult times.
