Gilberto M. Jimenez, 62 of San Juan Bautista passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. He was born in Jalisco, Mexico and lived in Salinas for 45 years.
Gilberto was a family man who enjoyed life. He lived life to the fullest and knew how to have a good time. Gilberto had a great sense of humor and was surrounded by much love from family and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved Singing with Mariachi and loved telling jokes.
Gilberto had been a labor contractor and owned his own business for more than 30 years.
Gilberto was extremely loving and giving. He was very proud of his 7 children, 21 grandchildren and great granddaughter. Gilberto was a loving father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and a good friend to all. His family was very blessed to have learned many valuable lessons from him.
He is survived by his wife Gloria of 40 years, daughters Julissa(Jose Luis) Vargas, Sonia(Joel) Guzman of Los Banos, Viviana(Melesio) Ramos, Alejandra(Edel) Muniz, Gabriela(Gabriel) Hernandez of Salinas, Destiny Jimenez of San Francisco; Son Gilberto(Yesenia) Jimenez of Salinas; mother Mercedez Jimenez of Long Beach; 21 grand children; 1 great grandaughter; 7 siblings. He was preceded in death by his father, Rodolfo Jimenez; brothers, Juan, Rodolfo; sisters, Graciela, Maria.
Visitations will be from 11-9 pm at Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Funeral Home in Hollister on Wednesday, Jan. 25 with recital of Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at San Juan Bautista Mission on Thursday, Jan 26 at 11 a.m. Gilberto will be laid to rest at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Salinas.
