Passed Away On: December 5, 2022

Joe P. Gonzales was born on September 24, 1933 in Holtville, CA to his parents, Rosa Perez and Pedro Gonzales. Joe was raised with his siblings in the Imperial Valley and moved to Hollister, CA in his twenties to seek work. He worked for the Bothelo Brothers for ten years and then went to Welding School. After two days in welding school, Joe quit school and began working as a welder at Baldo Guerrero Manufacturing Corporation in Gilroy, CA. Joe loved many things in life, including gardening, the Oakland Raiders, working on his 1971 green Chevrolet Truck, watching old western or action movies, and fishing. What he loved most of all was being with his family and enjoying his kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

He was a devoted family man and loving husband. He is survived by his wife, Lydia Gonzales, four children, Kelly Gonzales, Gloria Sanchez, Teresa Gonzales, and Marcus Gonzales, as well as his nine grandchildren, Michael Sanchez, Steven O’Connell, Joseph O’Connell, Rhiannon Gonzales, Michele Samayoa, Kevin Gonzales, Ashlyn Canez, Rahssandra Gonzales, and Megan Sanchez. In his latter years, he found most joy in making memories with his 14 great-grandchildren, Parker (13), Dominikc (11), Destiny (9), Sophia (9), Jace (7), McKenly (7), Brayleigh (6), Valentino (5), Cashton (4), Mason (3), Emma (2), Abigail(1), Madisyn (7 months), and Madilyn (1 month).
