Passed Away On: January 5, 2023
Margaret Fern Nichols – 100 years old passed away on January 5, 2023 at Mabie Skilled Nursing Home in Hollister, California where she lived for the past 2 1/2 years.
Prior to her stay there she lived at the family home at 352 Cowden Rd., Hollister, California. Margaret was born in Carthage Illinois on April 3, 1922 to Fred and Alma Speer. She completed her schooling there and married Roy Nichols on November 19, 1938. They moved to Hollister, California in 1942.
Margaret is survived by four children: Sharon Bandy of Post Falls Idaho, Sandra Chism of Coarsegold California, Joy Garcia of Auburn California and Larry Nichols of Chowchilla California. She has twelve grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Roy Nichols, her parents Fred and Alma Speer and two brothers Donald Speer and Merle Speer.
Margaret was a prayer warrior and loved Jesus more than life itself. She lived her life sharing his unconditional love and grace with everyone she came in contact with. She loved the church that she had attended for about 80 years and also loved her extended church family.
Memorial Service to “Celebrate Margaret’s Life” will be held at Sunnyslope Christian Center, Hollister, California on Friday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Townsend officiating.
