Passed Away On: June 26, 2020
Maria C. Bravo Arevalo a long-time resident of Hollister for over 50 years passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, June 26, 2020, surrounded by her family. Maria was born in Guadalupe, Chihuahua, Mexico and worked at local canneries in San Benito County for many years.
She found her passion in religious education at Sacred Heart Catholic Church as a dedicated catechism educator for over 20 years. Active in faith she was a member of the Adelita’s Solder’s in Prayer, Divine Mercy and San Juan XV Prayer Group. Director of Alter Services, a Biblical Retreat Organizer, Leader of Christianity Courses and Prayer Services. Catholic Church Script Lector, Spiritual Life Seminarian among other advocacy for Catholic Services and donations.
Maria is survived by her children: Eduardo (wife) Corina, Griselda, Elmer (wife) Llecenia and Omar Arevalo. Grandchildren: Thomas Steransky Jr. Edward, Victoria, Elissa Arevalo, Cielo Romero, and Michael Arevalo. Great-Grandchildren: Leon, Nunnally Steransky and Roman Arevalo. Brothers: Francisco, Salvador and Clemente Bravo. Sister: Norma Ortega, countless nieces and nephews and a heartfelt attachment to Erica and Monica Ortega, Francisco Esquivel Jr.
Predeceased in death by her husband Roman Arevalo, 2018.
