Mary Lee Dorsey transitioned from this life to eternal life on September 01, 2021.
She was born in Campbellton, Florida to the late Curtis and Evelyn Speights on August 21, 1934. She was a beloved sister to the late Luella Ramey. During her childhood the family moved to Wall, Pennsylvania.
She married the late Russell Thomas and spent her early life in Herminie, Pennsylvania. Three children were born to that union: Bennett Thomas, Tracy, California, Janet Thomas, San Jose, California and Linda Thomas, San Jose, California. Mary Lee has three grandchildren: Nicholas Thomas, Christina Johnson, Monroeville, Pa., and Felicia Thomas, Monroeville, Pennsylvania. She also has three great grandchildren: LaMont Johnson, Elijah Thomas, Delphina Christine Jones and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Later in life, Mary Lee married Archie Dorsey and relocated to San Jose, California where she established her own business in caring for the elderly.
She attended The Cathedral of Faith in San Jose, where she loved the Word of God, joyful praise and, singing along with the choir.
Mary Lee is best remembered for smile, laughter, love of her children and not to forget her fabulous cooking. She loved to entertain…elegantly. People across the country to this day speak of Marylee’s cooking. She enjoyed travel and spending time with friends and family. She also loved the Lord, music (R&B, Blues, Gospel), good movies, her beloved dog Diamond, baking, a visit with friends, spicy jokes, hats, shoes and dresses. One never saw her without a smile and her looking her best!
She will always be remembered for her wise counsel, her hearty laugh, and her love for her children. She had a gift of making people feel special.

We thank God for the 87 years of life given to her and the part of that life that we were able to share with her.
