Mary J. Calderone passed away in Hollister at the age of 93. She was born in Washington, DC and lived in Hollister since 1986 when she came here from Sunnyvale. She married her husband, John, in 1951 in Reno, NV. She was a collector of dolls, loved sewing, oil painting and was a member of the San Benito Art Club. She won many awards for her paintings including the San Benito County Fair. She played the piano, was a tap dancer, involved in a jewelry class and a member of the American Contract Bridge League. She was also a director of the Bridge Club in Hollister.
She is survived by her husband, John Calderone of Hollister, her children and their spouses, Patricia Ann Lebel (Richard) of Ontario, Canada, Joann Marie Drake (Woodward) of Pioneer, CA and Margaret Cecilia Paugh (Steven) of Gilroy, her brother, Jack Motter of North Carolina and her grandchildren, Jean-Pierre Lebel, Jaime Michele Kemp, Jennifer Marie Handforth, Julia Drake Jamal, Kelly Marie Ghasseminezhad, Sarah Elizabeth Wickman, Stephanie Rose Paugh and Andrea Michele Paugh and 6 great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life will be Monday, August 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Cremation will be followed by private family inurnment.
