Melinda Perez passed away in San Jose at the age of 54. She was born in Lewistown, MT and lived in Hollister most of her life. She married her husband, Dan Perez, in 1994 at the family ranch here in Hollister.
She is a graduate of San Benito High School, a member of San Benito County Cattlewomen's Association, a 6th generation on the family ranch, enjoyed camping and the outdoors, an avid Giants and 49ers fan and was a cancer survivor. Her great aunt was Hazel Hawkins, whom the local hospital was named after.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Perez of Hollister, her mother, Linda Jean Morrissey of Hollister, her two nieces, Linda Perry Garcia and Elizabeth Perry Thorp both of Hollister and her two dogs, Jack and Barney. She is also survived by her two step daughters, Jeanine Perez of Hollister and Anna Crister of Sonora. She is preceded in death by her father, Ray Morrissey and her sister, Jeannie Glass.
Celebration of her life will be on Friday, June 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home.
Pastor John Amelio will officiate.
