Melissa M. Rea

November 22, 1980 – February 11, 2021

Melissa was born in Hollister to Domingo and Gloria Rea.

She was surrounded by her parents and two brothers when she departed for Heaven to be with her Lord.

Melissa attended Sunnyslope Elementary School, Rancho San Justo School, Hollister High School and then attended two years at Gavilan College. She loved going to school and enjoyed socializing with her classmates. She participated many years in the Special Olympics winning many gold metals and ribbons. Even though she faced many challenges throughout her life, she was a happy and friendly person.

Melissa is survived by her parents, her two brothers Felipe and Enrique, her nephews Enrique Rea, Jr, Felipe Rea, Jr, her nieces Alyssa Rea, Marissa Rea, Rebecca Rea and Emma Rea, her Grandmother Nellie Riesgo, her aunts Barbara Riesgo Lopez, Anita Riesgo, Susie Riesgo, Sherry Castillo, her uncles, Richard Castillo, Charles Riesgo and Jose Rea. Also, many many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her Grandfather Manuel Riesgo and her cousin John Paul Blackstar.

Melissa leaves behind many wonderful memories that will forever be cherished. She was a beautiful person and will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Melissa’s life was held on February 22, 2021. Pastor Anthony Mojica of Oasis Chapel Church officiated .
