Passed Away On: September 29, 2022

Richard Michael Avidano (69), tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident on September 29, 2022, in Hollister, California.

Rick was born on November 21, 1952, to Aldo and Prudence (Rifici) Avidano in Brooklyn, New York.  He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, brother, Jeffrey Avidano and sister, Frances Avidano.

Rick enjoyed a career in Mechanical Engineering which he was only weeks away from retiring.  He loved design work and assembling the final products.  Rick had a passion for motorcycles, especially Norton Commandos.  He would be found a lot of times in the garage tinkering on one of his motorcycles or working on a car.

Rick was a loving and devoted husband, father, PaPa, uncle and friend. Rick’s relationship with his grandson’s was a very special one.  PaPa Rick was the star of the show in any gathering, for Colton and Brayden.  To say Colton and Brayden idolized their PaPa, would be an understatement.  The boy’s bond with PaPa revolved around trains, cars, fixing broken things, walks with the dogs, and building things.

Rick is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Mary Avidano ; two loving children who he was extremely proud of Michael Avidano (Megan) and Melissa Avidano (Tara); two adorable grandsons who were his pride and joy, Colton and Brayden; nieces and nephews who he was also proud of Kristine (husband David), Rachel (Rob), Angela (Nate), Troy (Paula); great nieces Hailey and Izzy; great nephews Zachary and Rylan; many other friends and family.  Oh and we must not forget “his bestest bestest best friend” and most devoted Aussie you have ever seen, Sophie (my Soph-Soph).
