Ronald W. Sherman passed away at his Hollister home at the age of 81.
The Rosary will be on Sunday, Nov. 12 at 7:00 P.M. at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. The Mass will be on Monday, Nov. 13 at 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Church with interment to follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery.
Friends can pay their respects on Sunday from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home chapel.
Ronald W. Sherman was born on September 24, 1936 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He came to Hollister in 1947. He married Lupe Rojas in Reno, NV in 1957. Together they had seven children: Della Silva, Julie Casarez (Eddie), Melody Sherman, Ronald Jr. Sherman (Maria), Amy Freitas (Louie), Patrick Sherman (who preceded him in death in February 1995) and Toby Sherman.
He is survived by his sister Joanie Barrios (Johnny) and his niece Bernadette Davis, all from Cathey’s Valley, CA. He is also survived by his Grandchildren: Dorothy Casarez, Rudy Silva, Jr., Jordan Silva, Toby Sherman, Jr. and Crystal Sherman. He is also survived by his Great Grandchildren: Desiree Pastor, Anthony Correa, Jade Correa and Rosie Casarez. He worked for the City of Hollister for 34 years; he also worked for many years at Shell Station which was located on San Felipe Road. He had a towing business for many years.
Ron enjoyed going to car shows with his classic cars all over central and northern California, playing keno at Righetti Liquors, talking with his friends, and going to casinos.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lupe, in March 2006, his mother Helen in July 2006 and his father William in 1945.
Ron will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
