Over 150 people came out in support of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of San Benito County at its annual Sip, Savor and Celebrate fundraiser on May 11. The event took place at Eden Rift Vineyards and featured Eden Rift wine, hors d’oeuvres from Fire4Hire Catering and live music by The Flashbacks.
“We are grateful to everyone who attended, supported and sponsored Sip, Savor and Celebrate making this a great event in support of foster children from our community,” said Esther Curtice, CASA’s executive director.
Live auction items included a seasonal dinner for six with Mike Fisher of Fisher’s Restaurant and Big Sur, wine country and Pismo Beach vacation packages.
Resident Kristine Hopp won the Wine Heist, with prizes including a 34-bottle wine cooler, a vast assortment of wine and a private tasting class for up to 20 friends.
Proceeds from the event go to training and supporting community advocates for abused and neglected children placed in foster care. In 2018, CASA of San Benito County served 40 children by providing advocacy, services and resources.
