Hollister police has located and arraigned Cory Daugherty on charges of forcible rape, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and several special allegations.
As reported on BenitoLink, in late 2017, a victim checked in to Hazel Hawkins Hospital and reported that they were sexually assaulted in downtown Hollister on an ""unknown date at an unknown time".
Hollister Police detectives looked through City of Hollister surveillance camera footage from the downtown area and where able to isolate the date and time of the incident as Oct. 27, 2017 at about 4:00 am.
HPD asked the public for information on the incident and, as reported, later that month Hollister police were able to identify the suspect as Cory Dean Daughtery, 31, of Fresno.
His bail is set at $130,000.00, according to the press release provided by the HPD.
The Hollister Police Department asks that anyone with information regarding this investigation contact Detective Bo Leland at 831-638-4115. HPD states that persons wishing to remain anonymous may call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME. Information provided to WeTip may qualify for a reward.
