Over the weekend rodeo athletes of the California High School Rodeo District 4 competed at Bolado Park Event Center for their district finals rodeo.

San Benito County will once again be well represented during the California Junior High School Rodeo Association’s State Finals in Red Bluff May 16-19--and the California High School Rodeo Association’s State Finals rodeo in Bishop June 12-16, where only the top five qualify and only the top four advance to nationals.

Figuring into the top four in any event is proven to be challenging when the field is compiled of roughly the top 300 cowboys and cowgirls in the state, though. But a total of 27 San Benito County residents will try their hand, nonetheless.

Only the top four in each event advances to the National Junior High School Finals Rodeo in Huron, South Dakota June 24-30—and the National High School Final Rodeo in Rock Springs, WY July 15-21.
