Micro-loans available for woman-owned businesses

The Women's Fund of the Community Foundation for San Bento County announces available micro-loans, empowering women in San Benito County

The Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation for San Benito County is pleased to announce available micro-loans for women owned businesses.

A micro lending team of eight dedicated and professional women has been working behind the scenes on a Micro-Loan Program for woman-owned businesses, and have come up with a short list of requirements:

  • Loan amounts may range from $1,500 up to $5,000.
  • Any home-based or store-front business in San Benito County that is 51 percent owned by a woman, and has been open for at least six months, is eligible.
  • Loans are available for equipment, working capital, marketing needs, and inventory, and additional information is available by contacting Stephanie Hicks at the Community Foundation.
  • The application deadline is Aug. 11, 2017.

The Women’s Fund would like to thank Loree Van Bebber, Cal Coastal; Bonnie Voropaeff, DLG Printing; Irene Recht, Union Bank; Juli Vieira, SBC Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau; Sallie Calhoun, Paicines Ranch; Cindy Merzon, CSUMB Small Business Development Center; Beverley Meamber, Women’s Fund; and Stephanie Hicks, CFFSBC. Their teamwork has enabled this program to become a reality and an opportunity to empower women in San Benito County to create a lasting impact.
