Sheriff’s Office issues statement on detonated explosive device

Law enforcement says two homemade explosive devices found in the area of the 700 block of Nash Road.

1/11 Update at 1:33 p.m.: Nash Road is open and the scene is secure.

The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office issued a Jan. 11 statement on the detonation of an explosive device in the area of Nash Road.

According to a recent release, the Sheriff's Office served a search warrant in the area of the 700 block of Nash Road in the city of Hollister on Friday morning.

Law enforcement says that during the search, two homemade explosive devices were located. One was disassembled by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and one detonated shortly before 11 a.m.

The public is not and was not at risk, the release said.
