Miguel Gutierrez Sahagun passed away at his Hollister home at the age of 81. He was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico and lived in Hollister for over 50 years. He married his wife, Antonia, in Mexicali on Dec. 30, 1967. He enjoyed gardening and fishing, visiting his many family members and friends and sharing bounty from his garden which included Lemons, nopales, chayotes, chiles and tending throughout the years.
He is survived by his wife, Antonia Sahagun of Hollister, his children, Miguel Sahagun Jr, Leticia Sahagun, Monica Sahagun and Adrian Sahagun all of Hollister, his brother and sisters, Carmen Navarro, Salvador G. Sahagun, Petra Arevalo and Maria Luna all of Hollister, grandchildren, Carmen M. Sahagun, Miguel Sahagun III, Mireya S. Sahagun, Adrian Sahagun Jr, Freddy Gomez Jr and Daniel Arevalo and his great granddaughter, LIa Arvalo.
He was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Mia Lenae Arevalo.
The Rosary will be on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 7:00 PM at Black Cooper Sander Funeral Home. Friends can pay their respects after 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
The Mass will be on Friday, Jan. 4, at 1:30 PM at St. Benedict Church with interment following at Calvary Cemetery.
