Helen R. Barnes

Helen R. Barnes passed away on July 12, 2020, at her Hollister home at the age of 91. She was born in Hollister and lived here all of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl, who passed away in 2003. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church and served as county treasurer for many years.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Barnes (Lorna) of Watsonville, Sharon Alexander (Stephen) of Yerington, Nevada and Carolyn Tortorelli (Paul) of Hollister. her sisters and brother, Rose Zgragen of Hollister, Clare Devencenzi of Reno, Nevada and Anthony (Sonny) Silva of Notasulga, Alamaba She is preceded in death by her brother and sister, Alfred Silva and Mary Walker. She is also survived by her sister in law, Irene Silva of Hollister and 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

Donations are preferred to St. Jude’s Children’s’ Hospital.

Services will be private with interment at Calvary Cemetery.
