Anna J. Kostielney

DATE OF DEATH:Thursday, January 05, 2017AGE:  88

Anna Josephine Kostielney, 88, passed away on January 5, 2017 at Hazel Hawkins Hospital in Hollister, CA. She was born in March 1928 in Bronson, Michigan to Stanley and Rose Wotta Kupiecki.
Anna grew up in Bronson, Michigan. She graduated from Bronson High School in 1946. During WW II, she worked for the Douglas Vacuum Cleaner Company where she built and packed materials for the war effort abroad.
Anna married Al Kostielney in 1947 in Bronson, Michigan. They were happily married for 69 years. She was a member of the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Hollister. Anna loved being with her family and especially cherished the time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending Bible study and fellowship with her brothers and sisters and just about any activity out of doors when she was able. You could also find Mom reading her Bible or hard at work on her favorite word find puzzle. 
Anna was preceded in death by her sons, Mark and Brian Kostielney; her parents, Stanley and Rose Kupiecki; her sisters, Eva Ludwick, Virginia Herman, Stephanie Janicki and Mary Staudinger and her brothers, Floyd and Michael Kupiecki.
Anna is survived by her husband, Al, of Hollister; her daughter, Toni Howell, of Hollister; her sons, Kevin (Becky), of Gilroy, Blaise (Mary), of Hollister and Matthew (Andrea), of Redding, CA. Anna is also survived by her sister, Marjorie Rakoske, of Bronson, Michigan; her grandchildren: Kristin and Brianne Kostielney and Erin Baker, Seth, Jed and Luke Howell, Brian and Daniel Kostielney, Nicholas and Steven Kostielney and Brianna and Madilynne Kostielney all residing in California. Anna is also blessed with 11 great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was especially close to her niece, Joy Rice (David) and nephew, Chris (Elodia) Dixon, both of Hollister.
Services will be held at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church, located at 1515 Santa Ana Road in Hollister on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM and a celebration of Anna's life will follow immediately thereafter. Friends are invited to join the family for a luncheon in the church Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Private burial will be at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella, CA.
