Jose Ricardo Muñoz passed away at 64 years old on Nov. 9, 2021 in San Jose, California after a long illness. He was born in Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico on Sept. 13, 1957. Jose Ricardo, the third of seven siblings, grew up in a tight-knit family headed by his parents, Justo and Carlota Muñoz.
Jose Ricardo spent his childhood and adolescence between Hollister and Huejuquilla and graduated from San Benito High School. He later attended Gavilan College and earned a bachelor’s degree in math from San Jose State University in 1997. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson around Hollister, listen to oldies, and visit his vacation home in Rosarito, Baja California, Mexico. He was known as a free spirit who loved to have a good time, make people laugh, and lend a hand to his loved ones.
He is survived by his partner of several decades, Martina Rodriguez of Hollister, his six siblings: Salvio, Ernesto, Carlos, Elvia, and Angelica Muñoz, all of Holister, and Enrique of Valpariso, Zacatecas, Mexico; his children Erica Muñoz of Ceres, Jose Muñoz of Gilroy and Stephanie Muñoz of Hollister; and grandchildren Lynaya, Aaliyah, Shaniya, Isaiah, Ximena and Kamila. He is preceded in death by his parents.
