LeRoy Daniel Sanchez (1933 – 2019) slipped away quietly this morning of January 8, after a short illness from aggressive bile duct cancer. LeRoy served in the Army during the Korean conflict, was a Teamster, and had several other careers. He retired for the last time after running the commercial kitchen at the Gilroy Gardens for almost two decades. Whether cooking for two at home, or cooking for two hundred at work, Lee was happiest in the kitchen. He had a love for cooking, food, wine, and also his love of eating and drinking good food and good wine. He had a great love of sports.
He is survived by his long partner over 37 years, Roberta Miller of Hollister, his daughters and their husbands, Lynda Peck (Norman) of San Leandro, Lisa Garibay (Jesse) of Hayward and Lori Truran (Steven) of Montgomery, AL.
Donations are preferred to The American Cancer Society in memory of LeRoy.
Committal services will be on Tues. Jan. 15, 2019 at 10:30 AM at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
