Maria de la Luz Arellano

DATE OF DEATH:Wednesday, June 15, 2022AGE:  63

Maria de la Luz Arellano-Ayala (Luz), beloved mother, wife, grandmother and dear friend too many, passed away on June 15, 2022, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  Her family was at her side. She will be dearly missed and will forever be in our hearts & minds.  She loved her flowers and enjoyed her time in the yard planting, she was known for her green thumb.  She was classy and beautiful inside out.  She was a member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church in Hollister and the last few years she attended Mission San Juan’s Catholic Church in San Juan Bautista.

She leaves behind her husband (Javier) of 44 years, her sons, Jose Antonio, Fernando and Javier Arellano, daughters, Araceli Barocio and Daisy Parks, daughter-in-law, Susana Arellano, sons-in-law, Elias Barocio and Jesse Parks, four grandsons and six granddaughters.  Her mother Josephina Magaña, preceded in death by her father (Cristiniano Ayala), sisters Irma, Lola, Rosa, Carmela, Olga and Josephina and brothers Juan, Benjamin, Cecilio, Jose and Alejandro.

The rosary will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 6:00 pm. at Black Cooper Funeral Home 363 Seventh St., Hollister, California.  The Mass of Christian Burial service will be held at Mission San Juan Bautista at 11:00 am., on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, and burial following at approximately 12:00 pm., in Calvary Cemetery, 1101 Hillcrest Rd., Hollister.
