Theodore Cruz Lopez “Ted” passed away Thursday November 18th 2021 at the age of 68.
He passed away in his family home in San Juan Bautista after a battle with cancer. He was the son of Rosario and Rebecca Lopez. Born at Fort Ord, Monterey California July 6, 1953 and raised in San Juan Bautista. He attended San Juan School and San Benito High. He received many certificates in Horticulture. He specialized in the art of Bonzi. He worked many jobs over his lifetime. He had a landscaping business, “Realistic Landscaping”, and designed many properties at the Ridgemark Golf Course at the onset of its development. He was an avid hunter, artist, and naturalist. He was also known for his detailed handcrafting of manzanita walking sticks, crosses, and replicas of ships detailed to the last masts.
He was married to Rose Palacio Lopez for 48 years. He is survived by 3 children. Teddy Lopez Jr., Gabriella Lopez and Anthony (Kimberly) Lopez. 10 grandchildren, Mercedes Casarez, Michael Naranjo, Anastasia, Nathaniel, Gabriel, Genea, Amber, AJ, and Greyson. 2 great grandchildren, Shyan and Lea. He leaves behind his mother, Becky Lopez of San Juan Bautista, siblings, Gloria Gutierrez, Daniel Lopez, and Linda Lopez (Rick). Preceded in death by his father, Rosario, Uncles Daniel Lopez, and recently, Manuel P. Lopez.
Private services as per family request. There will be a celebration of life to be held at a future date.
