Thomas (Tom) Lee Swenor passed away at his Hollister residence on October 7, 2020 with his family by his side. He was 87 years old.
Tom was one of seven children born to Millard and Vera Leone Swenor in Davison, Michigan. He loved to share fond memories of his family growing up in Michigan on the farm. Tom is survived by his brother Jerry Swenor and his family and Treva Gotts and her family in Michigan. Tom was preceded in death by his mom and dad and brothers, Sonny Swenor, Jack Swenor, William Swenor, and his sister, Joanne Sweers
After serving in the U.S. Army, Tom returned home and married the woman of his dreams, Juanita Neil. Tom graduated from Central Michigan and moved his family to California. Tom chose teaching as his career and taught for 57 years. Tom had 4 daughters, Suzette Van Horn (Jim Van Horn), Deborah Thorpe (Ray Thorpe), Kelly Kropff (Mike Kropff), and Heather Tari (Dave Tari).
Tom’s friends and family remember him as a positive, jovial, and loving man. In the last few years Tom loved to share with people that he was able to marry the woman of his dreams, had 4 beautiful, intelligent daughters ,and lucky enough to be able to teach for 57 years; “What more can a man ask for?” Tom was a family man who loved spending time with his 7 grandchildren who he was very proud of (Matthew Thorpe, Katelynn Thorpe, Ryan Swenor, Michael Kropff, Sean Kropff, Wyatt Tari, and Hannah Tari).
His celebration of life is currently being planned for Sunday November 22, 2020.
