Have you ever thought about you could recycle your spoiled food, food scraps, and yard waste at home? Do you want to save money and learn how to turn that material into rich organic compost for your garden?

On Monday June 3rd, join Integrated Waste Management (SBCIWM) and the Master Composter program for a fun-filled evening of composting education with some of the best Masters Composters in the area. Master Composters and worm whisperers, Julie Lorenze and Midget Bratz, will be teaching this workshop to share their expertise and teach you everything you need to know about turning your organic waste into nutrient rich soil right in your backyard.

“Composting is a simple and effective way to make a positive environmental impact in our community by reducing organic waste sent to our landfill and simultaneously improving soil health” states Integrated Waste Manager, Celina Stotler. Stotler adds, “this workshop is perfect for anyone who wants to reduce their waste, grow their own food, save money, or just get in touch with nature.”

In this workshop the Master Composters will guide you through the basics of composting and the finer points of vermicomposting. You would learn how to use a compost bin, select materials, maintain the bin, troubleshoot common issues, and more. Expect a hands-on
to put theory into practice.

You will have opportunities to chat with our composting experts and get answers to all your composting questions. Sign up now to save your spot by emailing sbciwm@cosb.us or call (831) 636-4110. Spaces are limited. Bring your own bins to take home your very own vermicompost habitat.
