San Benito County residents joined an estimated two million around the world on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Women's Marches in cities from San Jose, Santa Cruz and San Francisco to Washington, D.C. with many posting photos from their participation on social media.

Lori Arnold and Esther Curtice, who both work in Hollister for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) but were not representing the organization, participated in the Santa Cruz County women's march. Curtice planned ahead for the day, packing yellow slickers and preparing for a rainy afternoon.

Arnold told BenitoLink that she "marched for a number of reasons — primarily for women's reproductive health."

They called the march "awesome" and added that it was "peaceful, positive, and uplifting. The crowd was diverse: old and young, people of ability and disability, multiple ethnicities, religious beliefs, and gender identity. There was a sense of unity, caring and community, and I'm so glad I attended."
